Fourfoursixsix were approached to design a contemporary mixed use scheme for the key site of Eden House in the Greater London borough of Kingston upon Thames.
The scheme, which received planning approval on 29th September 2015, will meet all Lifetime Homes Design Criteria and achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4.
Located on Eden Street, a vibrant retail and commercial thoroughfare within Kingston town centre, the approved scheme will provide 39 residential units and a key commercial premises of over 500sqm
The predominately brick façade with stone detailing reflects the high quality historic materials of the local area, whilst the design accentuates the horizontality of the individual floors to break up the overall massing. The setback balconies provide planting space that add texture and depth to the façade.
The fully glazed commercial premise at ground floor provides a transparent, active and engaging street frontage that links with the neighbouring development.
Work is due to begin on site in 2016.
